The ORBCOMM satellite system provides a very inexpensive method of locating your barges on the waterways anywhere in the world. By installing a NAVI^STAR BA982GPS totally self-sufficient data acquisition and satellite communication package on a barge, the owner can monitor the barge at any time. Barge positions are displayed in tabular or chart plotter formats and are also available via internet access. Each barge can identify itself by name/number and location on the chart screen simply by touching its ID flag with the mouse. The Barge Fleet Tracker gives you the ability to track a single barge or your entire fleet anywhere in the world from your base station computer. The SASCO designed "Barge Fleet Tracker" base station software and digital maps is visually displaying the location and identification of every barge in your fleet from your base station computer. You will be able to know the position of the most appropriate barge for any scheduled or unscheduled pickup. You can track the day-to-day progress, and better manage arriving and departing schedules. The "Barge Fleet Tracker" Window95/98 based software has the following major features: You can see the latitude/longitude location and time of record. You can see the most resent chart/map location with the identification of the barges. You can see the nearest to a barge coast guard navigation marker. You can see the barges route/track progress. You can see a visual tracking log and compare the tracking statistics of every barge. You can select and adjust your own display options for the individual barges or group of barges such as the plot color, the track color and position report frequency. You have the ability to zoom-in on a barge in your fleet, allowing you to see the exact latitude/longitude position mapped against an actual marine chart. You will be able to see where your barges are when the weather gets rough. You will have the ability to visually track your entire fleet from the base station computer. You will be able to select from a series of navigational charts of various scales which will allow you the ability to see precisely where your barges are deployed. More charts can be added in the future as necessary and there is no limit on the number of charts or to how many layers you may wish to "zoom" for any particular location. Your base station will have the minimum hardware configuration of a 200MHz PC Pentium type computer with Window95/98, 2.1GB Hard Drive, 64MB Memory, 512KB cache, 2-16550 Serial Ports, enhanced bi-directional Parallel Port, 4MB Video Card, 1.44MB Floppy Drive, CD-ROM Drive, 56K Modem and a 17" Monitor. |
