NOTE: (Fugawi can be used without a GPS receiver

QUESTIONS:

(Q)	I have a handheld GPS receiver, but I find it difficult to plot my position on a map. How can you help?
(A)	Fugawi solves your problem. It permits you to see your position on any map

(Q)	How do I get my maps or charts into digital form?
(A)	Simply scan your map and save it. As long as you can inentify three positions on the map, Fugawi can locate all of the other points on the map. Once you have loaded the map once, it will be ready for instant access anytime you need it

(Q)	Doesn't the scanning process sacrifice some of the accuracy of the map?
(A)	You will be amazed at how accurately Fugawi can determine the co-ordinates of any point on the map - usually within a pixel or two. You could never plot this accurately by hand, even with a drafting table

(Q)	What if the scanned map was rotated or stretched? Won't it affect my results?
(A)	Fugawi takes care of this by mathematically compensating for these errors

(Q)	How do I know if my GPS receiver will work with Fugawi?
(A)	As long as the receiver supports NMEA 0183 protocol, Fugawi can determine your position from the GPS receiver. Not all receivers support the uploading of waypoints from the computer to the GPS. Fugawi supports the Garmin protocol for uploading and downloading waypoints, routes and tracks and the Lowrance/Eagle protocol for uploading and downloading waypoints and routes

(Q)	I need to determine my position while hiking, but I do not want to carry a laptop. What can I do with Fugawi?
(A)	Simply lay out your route on your PC by clicking on points on the map. No more time-consuming plotting. Upload the waypoints to your GPS receiver and let it guide you along your route. If you wish, mark points of interest as waypoints in the GPS. When you return, these waypoints and your track can be downloaded to your PC for analysis and future reference. You can easily create trail maps on your PC!

(Q)	I need to keep track of customers by location (or trees, geological formations etc.) How can Fugawi help?
(A)	Either mark points as waypoints while you are at that location, or if you know the map location of a particular customer, just click on the point. Fugawi will store the co-ordinates and your comments on that customer. The same approach can be used for any features you wish to document. The information that you collect with Fugawi can be exported to any standard database

(Q)	I enjoy boating. Can I use Fugawi for navigation?
(A)	Fugawi has all of the navigation functions that you need. Set up routes and waypoints by clicking on the chart. Watch your boat's progress on the chart. Fugawi shows speed, distance to go, time to go, etc. Fufawi calculates true and magnetic courses and bearings

(Q)	I do not have a scanner. How can I obtain digital maps?
(A)	Many photocopy service centers have scanners. Digital maps are available on the World Wide Web.

(Q)	My GPS receiver does not support many datum and grids. How can I use Fugawi?
(A)	Fugawi automatically converts WGS 84 to most datum found in the world and provides UTM and other grid co-ordinates along with latitude and longitude
